What do we do in 5th grade TAG???
The short answer = THINK! WONDER! REFLECT!
The longer answer = You will do a variety of different activities that match up to our *TAG Standards/Benchmarks. Sometimes, we finish these things in one class time and sometimes we spend several weeks working on them.
*What are the Standards/Benchmarks?
These are all the things I want you to do and understand this year! I know they are written in ‘my’ language, so I’ll simplify:
Standard 1: You will learn more about yourself. Things like how you think and how you learn.
You will also learn to judge your own thinking and learning and how to learn from your oopsies!
Standard 2: You will learn how to find information and then how to use that information in lots
of different ways.
Standard 3: You will learn different ways to solve problems and make decisions.
Standard 4: You will learn all sorts of ways to think about stuff [Information/Ideas].
Standard 5: You will learn how to share what you know and what you learn.
Standard 6: You will learn why all this stuff is important!
I believe…
…in helping you figure things out rather than telling you how to do them.
…no one could ever know everything, so we all need to be able to find what we need to know.
…sometimes stuff needs to be really hard, or really confusing, or really frustrating,
…AND…
…we have to keep at it until we get it,
…it is OK to ask for help.
…and that is WHY I AM HERE!
